China's inflation fell slightly in June, according to official figures released on Wednesday.
The consumer price index (CPI), a key measure of inflation, increased by 2.3 per cent in June compared to the same month last year, the National Bureau of Statistics said.
The figure indicated a slower pace of inflation than in May, when the index grew by 2.5 per cent compared to last year.
Food prices, which account for around one third of the weighting in the CPI calculation, grew 3.7 per cent year-on-year in June, down from 4.1-per-cent growth in May, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
Month-on-month, food prices in June declined by 0.4 per cent, the report said.
