Automobile manufacturer Chrysler’s Chinese subsidiary will recall over 25,000 imported cars back to China over flaws that may lead to fires, the country’s quality watchdog has said.
It will involve 25,505 imported Grand Cherokees produced between January 1, 2011 and December 11, 2013, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in an online statement.
Cords in the vehicles’ sun visors may lead to short circuits or fires, the statement said.
The recall will start on October 20 and the company will replace the flawed cords free-of-charge.
Founded in 1925, the American-based company Chrysler sells vehicles worldwide under its flagship Chrysler brand, as well as the Dodge, Jeep and Ram.
