Clashes in Buenos Aires after Argentina loses World Cup final

At least, 22 people were injured and dozens arrested in Buenos Aires late on Sunday, hours after Argentina lost the World Cup final to Germany, local media reported.

Fifteen police officers were among those wounded as they tried to stop hundreds of fans, who had begun smashing windows in the centre of the city, broadcaster TN reported.

At least, 40 people were reported to have been arrested.

Elsewhere in the Argentine capital, fans marked the end of the World Cup by celebrating the efforts of their team and its star player, Lionel Messi.
