The developer behind Google Glass and other technologies has left Google to work for the online retailer Amazon, according to multiple media reports on Monday.
Babak Parviz confirmed the move to Cnet.com. Over the week-end, he posted on his Google Plus account: “status: super excited! :)” — along with the Amazon logo.
He went on to say he would “work on a few other things now,” but did not go into detail about what his role will be at Amazon.
Parviz, who led the team that developed the Google Glass headset, was also working on a glucose-tracking contact lens, Cnet.com reports.
Parviz holds a doctorate degree in electrical engineering and worked for Google since 2010.
The online retailer Amazon has developed its own tablet and recently introduced its first smartphone.
