Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei Technologies Co Ltd on Wednesday reported an annual sales growth of 8 per cent last year below its target of 10 per cent.
The world’s second-largest provider of telecommunications equipment said its unaudited financial results showed global sales revenue of about 240 billion yuan ($40 billion) in 2013, suggesting “continued strong growth and sales momentum’’. Huawei’s annual profit was expected to be about 29 billion yuan, chief financial officer Cathy Meng said.
The growth in 2013 was spread across Huawei’s carrier network, enterprise and consumer business groups, with more than 75 per cent of the carrier network’s from the world’s top 50 telecom carriers, it said.
“We are dedicated to be a leader of the ICT (information and communications technology) infrastructure industry,” Meng said.
“While we continue to focus on our business and innovation strategy and the ongoing process of simplifying our management structure throughout 2014, Huawei will also work to achieve effective long-term growth and lay the foundation for the company’s development over the next 10 years,” she said.
