Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak would travel to United States this week to hold discussions with his American counterpart Leon Panetta on the current situation in Gaza in the aftermath of last week’s ceasefire with the Hamas and bilateral security ties.
“The (US Defence) Secretary looks forward to meeting with Minister Barak,” the Pentagon Press Secretary George Little told reporters at a news conference yesterday.
“Now they’ve had an excellent relationship. They’ve met and talked on a number of occasions, in the United States and in Israel, and they look forward to yet another discussion on a whole host of issues,” Little said.
