A Pakistani court on Thursday ordered the arrest of former President Pervez Musharraf in connection with the allegations of putting judges under house arrest, but he fled before he could be detained, a media report said.
Musharraf was whisked away from Islamabad High Court by his personal security detail, who did not allow the local police waiting outside the courtroom to take him into custody, according to the Geo News television channel.
Musharraf’s interim bail in the judges’ case was due to expire later in the day, and the ex-army chief was appearing in the court to seek an extension.
