Two senior Microsoft executives are leaving the company as newly appointed chief executive Satya Nadella forms his own team, Nadella said on Monday in a company-wide memo.
Tony Bates, who was executive vice president of business development and evangelism, is leaving the company and will be replaced on an interim basis by Eric Rudder, who has headed up advanced strategy.
Executive vice president of marketing Tami Reller is being replaced by long time marketing executive Chris Capossela, Nadella said.
Nadella, who was born in Hyderabad, India, took over Microsoft last month, becoming only the third chief executive in the software giant’s history, following founder Bill Gates and former chief executive Steve Ballmer.
