Three Palestinians were killed and 10 injured in an Israeli airstrike on a house in central Gaza, medics and witnesses said early on Saturday.
Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qedra said a 47-year-old woman and two men were killed in the strike on al-Zawayda town.
He also said about 40 civilians were injured in another airstrike on the Sabra neighbourhood of Gaza City overnight.
A 4-year-old Israeli boy was killed Friday by a mortar shell fired by Gaza militants. Israeli media said the boy was seriously injured when the shell hit a car in a community near the Gaza border, and later died of his wounds.
Palestinian militants also fired at least three rockets toward the Tel Aviv area, setting off sirens and activating Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile system, local media reported. No injuries were reported.
Israel accused militants of breaching a five-day ceasefire by firing cross-border rockets hours before it expired on Tuesday.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said 2,096 Palestinians have been killed and 10,540 injured since the start of Israel’s air and ground offensive in early July.
Israel’s assassination of Hamas commanders prompted its fighters to execute 18 people in Gaza on Friday suspected of working as informants for the Israelis, local media reported.
