Samsung Electronics Co infringed on Apple Inc’s patent for a visual feature on smartphones and tablet computers, the Tokyo District Court ruled Friday.
Apple claimed that the South Korean electronic giant had infringed its patent on the way iPad and iPhone screens seem to bounce when users scroll to the end of an electronic file.
The case was part of a four-continent intellectual property battle by the world’s two largest smartphone makers for dominance of the lucrative markets.
In August, the Tokyo Court ruled against Apple in a lawsuit that claimed some of Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones and tablets infringe on an Apple patent related to the synchronization of computers and eight portable devices.
