The US authorities have recalled handmade baby dolls manufactured in India as the toy poses “choking hazard” to young children.
Sold in the US by Illinois-based Land of Nod, the baby dolls were manufactured in India by Noida-based Radiant Exports.
In a statement, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said the hands on the plush dolls can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
“The firm has received one report of the doll hand detaching and three reports of the dolls hands loosening. No injuries have been reported,” it said, adding that in all 2,500 such dolls have been recalled, which were sold by the company from October 2012 to March 2013 for about $30.
