Obama Administration is changing its trade policy worldwide including India, as it welcomes competition, US Vice-President Joe Biden has said.
“We welcome the competition. It’s stamped in our DNA. And that’s why we’re changing our trade policy. That’s why we are changing the rules of the road from South America all the way to Indonesia and India,” Biden had said in his remarks in South Carolina yesterday.
“We are now talking about a new Trans-Pacific Partnership where everybody — if they’re going to compete, you’ve got to compete by the same rules, a level playing field. Even China’s talking about they may have to join it because they can’t stay outside this orbit,” he said.
“...but rules of the road: If you want to play, you’ve got to have a level-playing field,” Biden said.
“It takes me back to my conclusion here. It’s all about giving American workers an even shot. Just give them a chance, man. We can out compete, we can outrun, we can out manufacture, we can out the economy more than any other country in the world. This is the American century,” the Vice-President said.
