A session on Start-Up India is slated for February 21 at Suguna Auditorium on Kalapatti Main Road, Coimbatore.
The session, which is being organised by Young Indians, Coimbatore Chapter along with the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore envisions setting up a brand accelerator for mentoring start-ups.
"The start-up ecosystem is largely unorganised. We intend to step up, accelerate and put the start-ups in this region on the global map,'' says Swathy Rohit, Co-Chair, Yi (Coimbatore Chapter).
"While the entrepreneurial cult of this city is widely known, access to funds has always been an issue. It is largely done either by families or individuals, and awareness," Ms Rohit concedes "has and is still a major stumbling block''.
"To address such issues and more, we are driving this "Startup India: Standup India" initiative. We believe that this road show would prove an accelerator to motivate the young minds," she added.
Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, is expected to kick-start the session.
