The new generation of would-be-managers at Indian B-schools has been breaking stereotypes for some time now and want to be more than just geeks with top percentiles. Some take the path of entrepreneurship, some choose to be professional photographers, and some, well, want to leave a mark by playing drums.
Record attemptOne such B-schooler is Bhushan Gachake, a student of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, who has decided to attempt 30 hours of continuous drumming, to earn himself a place in Limca book of records.
During practice schedules, Gachake has played drums up to a stretch of twenty hours which helped him understand the hurdles he might face while drumming continuously. He decided to pursue his love for drumming to spread the message — one should live their life by pursuing one’s passions.
Gachake will start drumming from 1:30 pm on March 1 and will continue playing till 12:30 am on March 3, with a break of 10 minutes every one hour.
Balance maintainedDespite the top B-school’s academic rigour, he has been able to balance his academic commitments along with his love for drumming.
Gachake, who is also the outgoing cultural secretary of IIM-A, is looking forward to go back home, and play drums with his band-mates in Mumbai after his record attempt.
