The management meet Zest 2014 was organised by MBA students of MOP Vaishnav college for women (Autonomous) on February 7 and 8. The first day of the meet was dedicated to the undergraduate students while the second day was for the management students. The theme of the event was ‘Branding’. It was inaugurated by GroupCapt Vijaykumar, Executive Director, Madras Management Association. He enumerated five qualities of a good management student, which are: asking intelligent questions, listening to others, seeking others’ views, focusing on the crux of the problem and being honest.
Around 400 students who participated in the event from around 40 colleges from Chennai, Bangalore, Tiruchi , Madurai, which included Christ University, Anna University, Madras University, SRM University, Easwari, Madras School of Social Work, Meenakshi Sundararajan School of Management and Women’s Christian College. There were varied events such as paper presentation, business plan, the Godfather - best manager and madvertising. . Madvertising had three rounds: an audio-visual round, followed by a round of identifying logos and finally, adzap. Blood Brothers involved the group coming up with a story on a given brand covering all the stages of a new product development namely, introduction, growth, maturity, decline. The overall trophy was won by Measi Institute of Management, Chennai.
