The most significant of the challenges is to ensure high standards of ethical conduct and good corporate governance that stakeholders expect from corporate sector, according to the Tata Sons Chairman, Cyrus P. Mistry. He was speaking at the convocation ceremony of Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad and Hyderabad that recently took place at the IMT Ghaziabad campus. “Long term commitment to values need to be demonstrated by the industry leaders. In an increasingly interdependent world, young managers are required to develop the sensitivity to societal concerns, and use the many tools that are available,” he added.
The theme of convocation was Norming Excellence that focused on refining everyday aspects of life and inculcating among students the ability to look at ordinary things from a different perspective.
Bibek Banerjee, Director of IMT Ghaziabad also addressed the outgoing batch and advised them to apply the theory and tools learnt at the business school to solve the real world issues. “In order to ensure success and accomplishment in your professional life, you will need to connect the dots – the theory and simulations with real-world situations and challenges,” said Banerjee. “Combine these inputs with your own ingenuity and judgment, in order to solve the kind of problems that you will be faced with.”
The IMT Hyderabad Director, V Panduranga Rao was also present at the event and urged the students to create opportunity for others in order to boost nation's growth.
