E-commerce giant Amazon and rapidly growing e-commerce company Snapdeal have emerged as top recruiters at IIM Bangalore making 17 offers each at the campus. It is the highest number of offers made by any individual firm.
The closest second is 16 offers made by the Boston Consulting Group. Mckinsey & Co. and Accenture Management Consulting also made 11 offers each.
More than 150 companies participated in the process making 450 offers for a total of 398 students.
The lateral offers made to candidates with more than 22 months of work experience increased by 25 per cent to 156 offers this year. The total number of pre placement offers were 134.
International offers are back at the IIM this year with about 25 receiving placements for global locations.
Around 30 per cent of the graduating batch has received offers in the consulting sector. Some of the consulting firms that made offers at the IIM-B campus include Bain & Company, Strategy &, A T Kearney, Roland Berger, Alvarez & Marsal, Arthur D Little and PRTM.
Other prominent e-commerce recruiters include Flipkart, Urban Ladder, AskmeBazaar, Hopscotch, CarTrade, Proptiger, Quickr, Commonfloor and Ola Cabs.
Big international banks such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, and Citibank also made offers on the first day of the final placements.
Many students also received offers in sales and marketing functions, and were extended offers by major consumer goods and services firms. Major recruiters in this category were P&G, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Mondelez International, Coca Cola, PepsiCo, Reckitt Benckiser, Johnson & Johnson, Marico and Asian Paints.
This year five students have opted out of the placements.
