Sukanya Das and Anupriya Chaturvedi, MBA final year students of ICFAI Business School (IBS), Hyderabad, have been shortlisted as finalists in the Baylor USASBE Student Case Writing Competition 2015. The competition was held in the US during USASBE's annual meeting on January 22-23 at Tampa, Florida. The United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) is the largest independent, professional, academic organisation in the world dedicated to advancing the discipline of entrepreneurship.
The IBS students were among the six finalists selected from 25 teams from top universities around the world. Hyderabad-based ICFAI University was the only university in Asia with two entries among the six that made it to the finals. Both the students were mentored by Satish D, Associate Professor of Finance at IBS Hyderabad.
The case study presented by Sukanya Das was on 'Chetna Sinha’s Mahila Sahakari Bank: transforming the lives of rural women through financial inclusion' dealt with the challenges of scaling up a small financial institution.
The case presented by Anupriya Chaturvedi titled 'Bandhan: commercialising a social cause' dealt on the issues faced by an entrepreneur in transforming a micro-finance institution into a commercial bank.
