An IIMB team comprising PGP students Rohit Kumar, Amritha Kini and Shrirang Chilapur have won the All-India Bloomberg Investment Competition.
The India trade idea simulation competition, organised by The Bloomberg for Education Initiative, generated 5,957 trade ideas from over 400 teams and 28 business schools across the country. All the teams managed a paper portfolio of Rs 10 crore distributed among Indian equities.
IIM Bangalore’s team – Poison Pill – won top honours. In second place was ‘Discreet’ (Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata) and in third place ‘Peaceful Warriors’ (Management Development Institute).
By winning the competition, the IIMB team has earned itself a month’s access to the Bloomberg Professional Service and access for each member to Bloomberg Market Concepts.
Professor S G Badrinath, Chairperson, Centre for Capital Markets and Risk Management (CCMRM), at IIM Bangalore, said: “It is gratifying to see that the finance lab set up at IIMB is already paying dividends.”
Another team from IIMB finished within the top 10, resulting in IIM Bangalore emerging the top school in the tough competition.
