With reference to the editorial “Murthy’s second coming” ( Business Line , June 3), N. R. Narayana Murthy has accepted the distress call from Infosys, the company he founded and nurtured.

It is unprecedented in Corporate India that a retired chairman has been called to take control of the same company because of the company’s slipping fortunes.

It is to be seen how Murthy reclaims the ground lost by Infosys in the changed circumstances at the national and international levels since he gave up as Chairman of the company seven years ago.

However, the company has to learn the way to stay in good health even without Murthy.

It’s not cricket!

In all the discussion on the current controversy relating to BCCI and IPL, one does not hear the voice of the common man -- as if it does not matter.

He is the one who pays for watching the matches and without whom the sport cannot thrive. The expression that “it is not cricket” to mean the lack of fairness should be changed to “it is cricket” to indicate the absence of integrity.

It is time for the cricket fans all over the country to organise themselves and declare that they will not attend any matches until the controversy is resolved in a fair and honourable manner. Details could be worked through a consensus.
