The unprecedented levels of rain in Tamil Nadu have created havoc. Essentials including milk, water and vegetables are in short supply. In Chennai, the State's capital the situation is grim as overflow from arterial rivers has flooded many areas. Koyambedu market, which supplies vegetables to the city was completely cut off due to water logging and prices of vegetables skyrocketed.
