Swati Kumar says the internet has been of extreme use as she hunts for a job from Dehradun. “The world has become a much smaller place, thanks to the internet. It doesn’t matter anymore if you’re sitting in India and your employer in the US, and it’s surprising that this ‘keeping in touch’ has become so inexpensive. You don’t have to really speak on the phone to get a job, you have things like Skype and Viber to connect and it’s all free, all you need is an internet connection. You could exchange free messages on Whatsapp, talk on Viber and see each other as you speak using Skype. How cool and convenient is that!”
Swati says the internet has revolutionised the way people hunt for jobs, making the process more streamlined and faster.
“You could research about the organisation that you are keen to join. This will also help you steer clear of the fraudulent offers one might get whilst looking for an overseas opportunity. It just widens your knowledge in terms of knowing about the company, its management team, the vision and mission of the company, etc,” she says.
