Ten years after premium motorcycle manufacturer Triumph launched its orginal street triple, the all-new version of the roadster has arrived in the market. The Street Triple S is powered by a 765 cc engine developed from the built-for-the-track Triumph Daytona.

According to Triumph, the new Street Triple S’ engine sports over 80 new parts — such as crank, pistons, and aluminium barrels. It comes with a unique set-up, ECU, and state of tune, delivering 113 PS of peak power at 11,250 rpm and a peak torque of 73 Nm at 10,421 rpm.

An interesting feature about the Street Triple S is the presence of the Road and Rain riding modes, which adjust ABS, throttle response, and traction control settings. They are linked to the new ride-by-wire throttle system. A richer sound track, from a lighter, free flowing exhaust and revised air box delivers a distinctive induction howl. Better acceleration and slicker gear changes are achieved through a combination of revised gearbox geometry and shorter first and second gear ratios, the company said in a press release.

On the Street Triple S, there is a fully revised LCD instrument pack, as featured on the latest generation Speed Triple. This allows the rider to select the riding modes, on the move or at a standstill, and access key information from the on-board computer, including odometer, fuel gauge, trip meter and journey distance. For the ‘S’ model, this delivers a speedometer, rev counter, riding mode symbol, gear position display, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meter and journey distance. The motorcycle also features new LED position light headlamps.

Triumph also said that the motorcycle gets an all new gullwing rear swingarm for better stability at higher speeds.

The Street Triple S is available in two colours — Diablo Red and Phantom Black (metallic) and starts at ₹8.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
