Workplace resolutions for 2012

Spread the joy

I resolve to make this place a happy and joyous one for my team. As happiness of an individual in the workplace is the most vital factor for delivering the best goods, I will try to make my workplace more customer-friendly and approachable. I resolve to strike the correct chord in harmonising the work atmosphere so that my workplace becomes the right place not only for my team members but also for my customers who visit the branch daily.

Talk less, work more

Mahatma Gandhi said ‘Reputation comes without invitation and goes without farewell'. Some colleagues' unrealistic ego needs affect the productivity, reputation and goodwill of organisations. I have resolved to focus on work and avoid indulging in unnecessary confabulations in the workplace that might dampen the spirit of my colleagues. This resolution would automatically enhance my personal well-being and productivity, which in turn would benefit the organisation I work with.

Anger reduction

I resolve to reduce the number of times I get angry and increase the number of anger-free days in 2012 compared to 2011. As raising one's voice is misconstrued as being angry (even if it is for emphasis or being heard), ‘speak in a low voice' is the contingent resolution. I hope to achieve more in 2012 than in 2011 by these resolutions.
