MY FIVE
1 I start my day at 6 am and an hour of golf or some form of exercise like running is the usual every morning routine, as evenings are not under my control. I find this energising.
2 Twice a week I run at least five kilometers. I believe if you are not healthy, then you would not be able to do justice to your work.
3 My breakfast is the heaviest meal of the day. I have just one cup of tea in the morning — no tea, coffee or aerated drinks after that. Instead I take tender coconut water. And there is no eating between meals. It has become a habit now.
4 Since I have a thyroid problem, I do a form of Pranayama (breathing exercise) 13 to 15 times a day to tackle
this.
5 When I am too stressed I take a 10-minute walk around the block! It most often clears my mind. I am also a regular trekker and recently made a trip to the Everest Base Camp. The training for treks includes climbing 10 floors, nine times in 45 minutes! I do this twice a week for three months in a run-up to a trek.
