Chairman & MD, Granules India
1. My day starts at 5 am. After drinking half-a-litre of warm water with a little honey, I jog about 6 km and about 12 to 16 km on holidays. With age, I have slowed down my pace and I avoid crossing an upper limit of 9 kmph.
2. After warming up, I practise yoga for an hour, including 10 minutes of Pranayama. I started yoga about eight years ago, and it has made a huge difference to my life. Without yoga, I possibly would not be running marathons as I do today.
3. I am cautious about food and I try to reduce carbs. I eat a light breakfast with fruits, a light lunch, but a slightly satisfying early dinner with a glass of red wine at around 7 pm. I catch up on TV or reading and go to bed early.
4. As I love meat, especially grilled food, on Sundays, I enjoy barbecuing with friends and sipping wine.
5. I take frequent holidays with my wife, Uma. Our favourites are running marathons across the world and enjoying quiet times at our vineyard near Hampi. These holiday spells are rejuvenating and refreshing and makes me look forward to going back to work.
