Wireless chargers first became a must-have little convenience in the US sometime last year. It became just too much trouble to reach for the cable and plug it into the phone. Instead, people wanted to just drop it onto a charging pad and pick it up and walk off when they were ready. Only problem was that wireless chargers were slow at doing their job and of course not every phone supports them. That’s slowly changing. Now, many phones above a certain price point support wireless charging but there still aren’t combinations of phone-and-charger for fast wireless charging.
Huawei recently released its 15 W quick wireless charger for ₹3,999. You’ll find it easily on Amazon. It’s a surprisingly slim disc, light enough to be carried around. It’s really meant for Huawei’s own devices, especially the Mate series, which makes full use of it and and works best, although it will work with any phone or device that supports Qi charging such as some earbuds at a slower speed. It takes two-and-a-half hours to fully charge the Mate 20 Pro, which has a 4,200 mAh battery.
The Qi standard identifies smartphones, earbuds and other devices intelligently and adjusts output power automatically to charge them safely. This charger recognises when you’ve put keys or other objects and switches off. It even has a built-in chip that can adjust the output power automatically according to the ambient temperature and real-time battery percentage.
As you place the phone on the mat, a tiny white light indicates that charging is in progress without a problem. The silicon surface of the mat prevents slippery phones from falling off when they like. The charger even has a bit of style to it with a little red line sandwiched between the top and bottom.
